Molybdenum Sheet is a thin sheet of molybdenum alloy materials. The sheet could be formed by hot rolling procedures and is polished further with different finishes depending on the applications. There are standards and specifications to cover the dimensions, composition, chemical properties and mechanical properties with international standards. The ASTM B86 is the standard for the molybdenum sheets. The molybdenum sheets in this standards have over 99.5% molybdenum in their composition. When the sheets are thicker than 0.004 inches, they are called the ASTM B386 Type 361 Plate, Molybdenum Plate.
The plates and sheets are used excessively in high temperature applications. Their thermal conductivity is very high and the corrosion rate is very low. So the Molybdenum Sheet, Molybdenum Alloy 363 Strips can withstand high temperatures without getting damaged. There are also other types of products in commercially pure molybdenum such as the Molybdenum Foil Strip. The applications of the molybdenum products range over heat shields, heat sinks, molybdenum boats, electric power semiconductors and in electric vacuums.
